About us

There are four partners in this enterprise. Shaky & Jake are Edinburgh restauranteurs of some repute. Richard is a wine merchant (also from Edinburgh, and also with repute) with 20+ years wine trade experience. Danie is a young thrusting winemaker from South Africa who has worked in various famous wineries across the world including New Zealand (Allan Scott in Marlborough), Bordeaux (Chateau Grand Mayne, St Emillion), the USA (Stags Leap, California), etc etc

The connection was that Danie came to the UK to learn about the "selling end" of the wine business & ended up driving (& slightly crashing) a van for Richard. Jake, Shaky & Richard then went out to visit Danie in Stellenbosch (South Africa) & during the course of many beers the plan was hatched. Unlike most late night plans this still seemed quite a good idea in the morning & so the plan came to fruition. How many times can you say that? Not very often!
